Summer Events Are Happening Now!

It’s hard to believe but Arts for Learning’s summer camps are starting to wrap up.  Now it’s time for our students to show off all of the hard work they have put in this summer at a series of fantastic, open to the public events.

Our inaugural group of ArtWorks students will be hosting an evening of performances and a visual art exhibit at the Bakehouse Art Complex (561 NW 32nd Street, Miami, FL 33127) from 5:30-7:30 pm on Thursday July 26th.  This has been an incredible experience for all involved and the students would love to have you as their guests!

On Thursday August 2 from 3:30-4:30 pm, come see the Carnival created by A4L’s students at the Barnyard in Coconut Grove (3870 Washington Avenue, Coconut Grove).  There will be a tremendously colorful show of dance and visual art, as well as a special showing of “August in August,” a collection of scenes by the great playwright August Wilson performed by students.

Last but not least, please join us for our fourth annual Lewis Arts Studio showcase at our new home in the Grove (101 Grand Avenue, Coconut Grove, 33133).  On Saturday August 4th, from 2:00-5:00 pm.  Enjoy the visual creations of our intensive portfolio prep students, including amazing life drawings, still lives, sculptures, and the world premiere of a short film entitled “The Rocking Vampire.”

For any questions about these amazing shows, please call the A4L office at 305-576-1212 for more details.  We hope to see you soon!
